CEU Business School Named Region’s Most Innovative Business School

CEU Business School has been named the most innovative business school in Central & Eastern Europe, winning the prestigious European CEO Global Business Education Award.

Mel Horwitch, Dean of CEU Business School, accepted the award at a ceremony at the London Stock Exchange on Dec.12, 2011.

Professor Horwitch has served as dean for one year, during which time the school innovated with regard to overall mission, curriculum, and technology. Most notably, CEU Business School took a transformative step in deciding to make entrepreneurship and innovation significant components of its core mission. Among other developments, the school introduced iPads into the MBA program.

“Ultimately, for most countries and firms, human talent, creativity and the ability to introduce new and improved value are key sources of competitive success,” Dean Horwitch observed at the award ceremony. “We believe that we can significantly participate and contribute to a global innovation ecosystem.”

Supporting this goal, CEU Business School has also launched the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, which hosts round tables, funds targeted curriculum development, sponsors research, holds specially designed executive education programs, and operates a new Business Accelerator Lab for nurturing regional start-ups and for educating aspiring entrepreneurs.
