Global Business Plan Compettion

New York City is where innovative ideas come to life. This exciting competition invites you to develop business plans that will be executed in NYC. Sponsored by New York City Economic Development Corporation, this competition can put you on the forefront of NYC's latest breakthoroughs.

Access:

• Top venture capital companies
• Investors, business, academic and goverment leaders
• Cutting-edge enterpreneurs from NYC and around the world
• Feedback after each round of the competition

Eligibility:

• Two separate competition tracks: undergraduate and graduate
• Teams with 2-5 participants
• Preference for business ideas in: financial services, green, non-for-profit, bioscience, fashion, media and technology
• Business plans must have a NYC operations and/or marketing component

Winners:

• Finalist will receive a free trip to NYC, including airfare and accommodations
• Cash prize: 20 000 dollars for winning graduate team, 15 000 dollars for winner undergraduate team
• Two years of free tenancy at one of the City's business incubators

Key Dates:

• October 1, 2010: Registration deadline
• October 15-22, 2010: Question & Answer period
• November 15, 2010: Executive Summaries (Round I) due
• December 1, 2010: Announcement of semi-finalists
• January 4, 2011: Business Plans (Round II) due
• January 18, 2011: Announcement of finalists
• April 4-9, 2011: Final presentations in NYC; announcement of winning teams
