What is the function of the Undergraduate Writing Center?
Effective written communication is a fundamental skill for every CEU student. A capacity to write clearly and effectively is crucial within the university, not to mention an invaluable asset in the professional world.
The CEU Business School’s commitment to develop the writing skills of its undergraduate students is illustrated not only in programs’ required communications courses, but also in the many classes that incorporate writing projects into the coursework.
The challenges involved in the composition of an academic document are unique to each writing task a student takes on. The UWC is a resource students can draw on throughout their academic career. We understand that as a student progresses through the program, the expectations associated with each writing task become more and more complex.
From the first term paper in an intro level course to an large independent research project, the UWC is here to offer guidance and constructive feedback for undergraduate writers throughout their time here at the CEU Business School.
Students are encouraged to visit the UWC at any time in the writing process. Students should feel comfortable stopping by at any stage, whether they are trying to pick a subject for a term paper, would like someone to look over a polished draft of a research report, or need help evaluating sources.
The UWC has an open door policy during Open Hours. For an appointment email to: hayesh@ceubusiness.org
